Red grass is a perennial summer growing C4 grass. It growth commences in late spring and continues through the warmer months until first frost when it goes into dormancy during the winter.
It has good grazing value when young and grows naturally over a large area of Australia.

This species of paspalidium grows on lighter soils with a Ph range above 5. It grows naturally in a large geographic which includes eastern Queensland, the tablelands and slopes of NSW and Victoria.
It is a summer growing C4 perennial grass, growing from October to first frost. It is one of the most palatable and productive native grass species which responds well to summer rain growing to a height of 70 cm.
Warrego seed is small, 1.5mm long, and awn less. Winona Warrego seed is cleaned and germination tested, pre purchase, and is one of the few native grass seeds that can be sown through a normal seed box, being planted on its own or mixed with other pasture seeds.
